PRICING
There is a range of factors we take into consideration when pricing up custom wedding rings and custom engagement rings.
Firstly, we look at the amount of metal that the ring will use. If a ring is more chunky, a different shape or a much larger size, it could be at least 1.5-2 times the prices linked to above. The costs for mokume gane are considerably higher than a plain ring. This is due to how labour intensive and time consuming the process is and how much extra metal is required to make a ring.
Secondly, we look at the amount of time Richard will spend designing and sculpting the ring. The fee for this tends to be a lot higher for custom engagement rings, often around £500 for something very ornate. Carving elaborate settings for gemstones is a complicated and time consuming process!
Finally, any further additions like gemstones and engravings will be added. Gemstones can range from as little as £15 for small stones up to many thousands of pounds for high quality diamonds, sapphires, rubies or emeralds to use in custom engagement rings. Engravings are usually £20-50.
