We use UK sizes as standard. All of our rings come in a ‘standard size’. This simply means that the ring has not yet been adjusted from the original sculpted & cast size. They are sized once an order is placed, which involves either adding or taking away metal on the ring band (this can mean your ring is slightly lighter or heavier than the guideline weight).

If you are buying a gift, and you don’t know for certain what size you need, we recommend you choose the standard size, and get the ring resized at a later date after gifting (free of charge, simply post it back to us with size information). This means the ring is adjusted only once, rather than twice which means less work is done to the ring and sculptural detail is better maintained.

If you have a ring that fits well on the finger you’d like your new ring to fit, then assuming it is a flat/simple ring, you can use the free Jason Withers ring sizer app which you can download from Apple or Android to read a size from it. You can also place it laying flat over a ruler or tape measure, photograph it from above, and email the picture to us for some guidance. 

If you are local to (or visiting) London, you can visit Richard directly at his stall in Greenwich Market where he can measure your finger in person. He may even have the ring you’re after there for you to try on/buy.

Please do not measure your finger with a tape measure or with a piece of string, these usually give measurements a number of sizes too big. 

If you need a ring to be resized, you can return it to us for complimentary resizing (first resizing is free, further sizings will be charged, please email if required). However, you will have to pay to return the ring to us in order for us to size it. In some circumstances this can get expensive (for example, if you live abroad). In that situation if the ring has a straightforward design it may be cheaper to visit a local jewellery workshop, please feel free to ask us for advice in this matter. If we have made an error in sizing your ring we will cover the return postage to us for resizing once we have received the ring back, and can confirm we have made an error.
