A multi talented artist, Richard also shines in the complex process of Mokume Gane, a beautiful and specialised skill originating from Japan which he has been mastering for 15 years.

A friendly and personable jeweller, Richard has held a stall at Greenwich market since 2009, and it is here he has honed his skills of understanding and interpreting people’s desires into wearable precious metal heirlooms. He offers a deeply bespoke service, some of his clients have even gone so far as to call him a mind reader for his ability to connect with ideas they hadn’t even realised yet themselves.

Though wedding rings, engagement rings and other bespoke pieces are the highlights of Richard’s work, he also has a vast body of stock rings which you can find online and at his market stall, ready to wear. Predominantly silver, these chunky tactile rings are whimsical pieces that offer a little joie de vivre for everyday life. His subjects include animals, fantasy creatures, quirky anatomical elements, abstract organic shapes, gem set rings, edgy wrought pieces and more.

Everything Richard makes is produced with traditional techniques, hand sculpting, carving and hammering the metal to life. Pushing past developments in technology Richard rejects jewellery designed by CAD and AI, instead impressing uniqueness and humanity into each and every work.

In 2024, his unique and personal approach to jewellery making earned him the highly regarded accolade of the gold award in senior modeling from the prestigious Goldsmiths Craft and Design Council Awards.
